Enhancing Performance

Performance: the perfect theme for this week’s contribution! Rarely ever before have I been challenged to perform greatly, as I am right now (my agenda is literally bursting). But not just in the to me very familiar field of creating, art directing and designing, but also in all the fields related to running a business- from acquiring clients, to managing accounts and schedules, to keeping the books, etc. The list and therefore tasks seem endless, exhausting, borderline overwhelming, yet also weirdly invigorating! And it’s this excitement about creatively challenging and great new, and ongoing projects that creates the energy to perform.

Judging from the requests for estimates and contracts signed, the economy is seemingly slowly picking up again. Still, the budgets are small, far below from where they were about 2 years ago, which takes even more sensibility to balance, but slowly but surely clients are seeing more and more the need to invest in their visual appearance and communication. Admittedly an occasional great off site art direction project helps to pad the bank account and therefore one’s sanity. And just paid for a nice little steel-grey Jil Sander suit and an amazing pair of black Trussardi 1911 buckle shoes. Both of which definitely help enhancing performance as well!
