Take hold of your health as if it is a matter of life and death. Don’t leave it up to chance! Rolling the dice on how well or long you live your life is a gamble you will most surely lose. In the end, no amount of hope or risk will assure your well-being. The choice of good health is yours, only if you choose it.
As I always tell my clients, willpower is a bunch of (excuse me) crap! Nutritious food is most often hidden behind the shiny bells and whistles of processed foods. Every few seconds, we are stimulated by an advertisement of the next best, tasty, quick, easy, supposedly delicious item to ease our hunger and our pains. There is no willpower in the face of sensory bombardment!
The surest and first step towards health is awareness. The second is action. The action steps begin with time. First, take the time to shop, plan, and prepare your meals. Second, take the time to nourish, take care, and enjoy the livelihood you work so hard to achieve. Lastly, give thanks for yourself because you didn’t bet on your health and you didn’t depend on chance or willpower alone. Become aware, take action, and rise to meet a determined, purposeful you.
