I started my nutrition quest from sheer shock and awe. Client after client approached me exhausted and weary. Time and again, clients tell me what they don’t eat, what they’ve cut out, what they eat-on-the-go, and how well they can survive on nothing and then kill themselves at the gym on a regular basis. I hear amazing stories of extreme measures in dieting, fear of food, and how eating has become a chore. On the other hand, as one of the most powerful nations, we are also a country leading the obesity epidemic. 67% of our country is overweight and 1/3 is obese while the government continues to subsidize products, such as high fructose corn syrup, that make us fat. We are indeed a starving fat nation.
It pains me to see something so simple and nourishing as food and eating become such a tragic cause of chronic disease and malnourishment. Out of the struggles of my clients and the many overweight and obese Americans, Eating Free aims to face the challenge head on. Our cause is to bring eating back!
