20 Years of “In the Life”

In the Life, the PBS newsmagazine that covers LGBT stories and issues, launches its 20th season with an online premiere on October 1st.

The anniversary episode covers New York’s marriage equality victory from how it happened, to who stood in the way, and where we go from here – plus a look back at 20 years of culture wars.

In the Life was originally conceived to counter the anti-gay messages of the radical right. And while one might argue that the PBS audience is inherently more socially open-minded than the public at large, the show consistently provides thoughtful, engaging coverage of stories that matter to the LGBT community.
