Babes of NPR blog

By Ryan Collett

Since starting in January, the Tumblr-run blog and its accompanying Twitter handle, @BabesofNPR, have amassed quite a following by fetishizing National Public Radio journalists.

The concept behind Babes of NPR is simple: chronicle the good-looking people behind the good-sounding voices of public radio. The list includes well-known gay voices Ari Shaprio, Mo Rocca, and Sonari Glinton.

Beneath a photo of Ari Shaprio, the blog describes him as “the politically savvy love child of Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and an Avatar.” No comment from Shapiro, who married his boyfriend in 2004, or any other NPR staffers about the blog that the New York Observer describes as, “moderately creepy.”
