As part of the “Champions of Change” series, a national campaign geared towards honoring local unsung heroes and leaders who are spearheading the march towards a more perfect union, the White House will be honoring distinguished LGBT community heroes in the Pride Month Champions of Change Video Challenge.
The “Champions of Change” series is looking for submissions focused on: overcoming adversity; coming out; overcoming discrimination; highlighting intersections between culture and identity; depicting exceptional artists; featuring social entrepreneurship and innovation; or honoring unsung community heroes (individuals or organizations) vital in championing local solutions.
Video submissions can be a music video, short film, video blog, interview, etc. no longer than three minutes, and will be reviewed by a panel that will select semi-finalists and finalists. If video production is not possible, essays up to 750 words will also be accepted. All essays and videos must be submitted by May 4.
