What do you do?
I am the co-founder of Out In The Vineyard, a Luxury LGBT Wine Event & Tour Company and passionate about global travel.
Why do you do it?
My two favorite things are travel and wine. Ok 3 favorite – Travel, Wine and the LGBT community – and I want to share all the great places to see in Wine Country and the Wine Country Lifestyle, which is a great fit for the LGBT community. Wine Country is a beautiful global luxury travel destination and no one was helping the LGBT community discover it.
What accomplishment in your career to date are you most proud of?
Not exactly career, but related as I’m a big traveler and travel was a big inspiration for founding Out In The Vineyard. My biggest accomplishment to date it to have traveled to Antarctica and reached my goal of traveling across all 7 of the earth’s continents. Secondly, I’m proud of the impact we’ve made on turning Wine Country into a travel destination for the LGBT community.
Who has made the biggest impact on you in life so far, and why?
This is going to sound like a cliche, but my mother. I am a twin and we were both born with a very serious birth defect. If it weren’t for her determination and persistence in the face of all the odds against us, I wouldn’t be alive today.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Forward thinking, Creative, Nerdy.
What is something that not a lot of people know about you, but you wish more people could know?
I’m actually quite shy. People laugh when I say that. I compensate with a lot of bravado, and I’ve been told many times by people AFTER they get to know me that they thought I was “a self centered ass,” and confessed that after they got to know me I’m “actually a nice guy.” I really AM a nice guy and kinda shy when it comes to personal things.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional, who would it be?
James Bond – he’s globally minded, adventurous, good looking, and always gets the girl – well ok, I’d get the boy!
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
Have to be George Clooney. We look like brothers! 🙂
Where would you go if you had a time machine?
I’d have to go back to the year 0 and check out Jesus and get to know the real man – or go back to the late 90’s and buy a hell of a lot of Apple stock!
Anything else you would you like to tell our readers?
We’ve been successful at opening up California Wine Country to the gay community. The next step for Out In The Vineyard is to take the LGBT community to other wine regions of the world. We’re currently planning outbound gay wine travel in – Australia, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, and Europe. Who’d like to go with us?
