By Anna Peirano

NBC has called it, and President Barack Obama has been elected for another four years as President of the United States of America.

The clinching win was Obama’s taking of Ohio, one of the key battle ground states. He also won Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Colorado, Michigan, and New Hampshire. He’s guaranteed wins in California, Washington, and Oregon – thus ensuring his victory.

Celebrations have commenced in Washington as well as in the Obama Headquarters in his home state of Chicago.

Tammy Baldwin has also won her Senate seat in Massachusetts, becoming the first openly gay Senator in U.S. history.
