NBC News correspondent and “Weekend Today” anchor Jenna Wolfe announced two pieces of exciting news this morning on the Today show. She’s expecting a baby, and it’s with her girlfriend and fellow NBC news correspondent Stephanie Gosk.
Wolfe gave the exclusive story to the Today show and People magazine about her exciting new chapter. Wolfe, 39, has never come out publicly until today and told People magazine she wanted her daughter to know that her mom wasn’t afraid to be with who she loves.
“Stephanie’s extremely adventurous, she’s been all over the world. And you know me – there’s not a building I haven’t jumped off of … so, for us, this is nothing like that. This is the adventure of a lifetime,” Wolfe told Matt Lauer.
The casual coming out story went smoothly with her fellow NBC anchors congratulating her as she casually slipped in to the conversation who she was expecting her baby with.
Along with the big news, Wolfe shared that she would be blogging about her pregnancy journey, noting that although she isn’t the first person to have a baby, it was the first time she was having a baby, and it had already been quite the adventure.
The couple has been together for three years and are anxious for the arrival of their first child. Gosk, 40, and Wolfe are happy to finally begin raising a family, have this be as both working moms have busy schedules.
The baby is due on August 27 and Wolfe said she would keep Today Show viewers in the loop about her pregnancy.
