Being on the TOP 5 of my favorite cities in the world, I never say no to my beloved London, specially when being hosted at the Chambers Building of the recently restored iconic London’s landmark, the St Pancras Hotel by Renaissance. Marriott is bringing sexy back with style and sophistication. Our second stay was be at the Grosvenor House, in Mayfair. To be fully honest, ha ha ha I have never in my life been so happy and excited to stay at a Marriott property before. I assume that most of you, mortal tourists, have no idea were that all these premium signature brands, were under their umbrella, like Bulgari, EDITION, The Ritz-Carlton and of course JW Marriott.
One last reason and excuse for our trip to London, was Beyonce’s Concert ” Mrs Carter Show ” at The O2 Arena, which we – Rubin and I, will be assisting with our lovely entourage of friends both from New York and London. Here you may find out a few tips on what we did, where we dine, where we played and what we’ve seen, because London is Calling and I am answering. See you next in London Darlings.!!!
WHERE WE STAYED
St Pancras by Renaissance
By Sir George Gilbert Scott, this spectacular building, former Midland Grand, masterpiece of the Gothic Revival, today the St Pancras marks and epic revival as one of the most significant examples of restoration and regeneration yet seen in Britain. Used as offices for 50 years, it eventually fell into disrepair and faced demolition until de decision to make St Pancras the London terminal for the Eurostar, which opened the way for its revival and return to full glory. Grosvenor House Hotel
To be honest when we left the St Pancras by Renaissance to move to our new hotel the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair, I didn’t have much hopes and expectations about it, other than being in Park Lane, and more centric to London’s happening. And by the end of our stay, I was beyond satisfied with our experience and I would keep this hotel as one of my future options while visiting or sending clients to London. Frequented by royalty, celebrities and business leaders since its opening in 1929, the historic Grosvenor House became a JW Marriott Hotel in September 2008 at the culmination of its restoration. WHERE WE DINED AND WINED
The Wolseley Cafe & Restaurant
One of restaurants in my MUST DO & SEE list, every single time I come to London, is The Wolseley Cafe and Restaurant. No other restaurant catches my interest for a fabulous sophisticated lunch like The Wolseley. The Wolseley is a café-restaurant in the grand European tradition located in St James’ on London’s most famous of boulevards, Piccadilly. See and Read more
Just woke up from a long fun night out in London, where do we go, where do we go…. that it is not far from our new hotel, the Grosvenor House Hotel Park Lane, and the telephone rings, our friend John on the other side with all plans made, literally saved by the bell. Jump on the taxi on a rush of time and hunger, ha ha ha and two embarrassing and 4 pounds later, we arrive to 34 Restaurant. Local with touches, surprisingly, of Argentinean touches. TIP did not have enough time, but heard of this new VIP Members Club recently opened which is the must be seen spot in London these days – LouLou’s at 5 Hertford Street, because as much as SOHO House London is trying to keep it cool and cute, after our Sunday Brunch at the rooftop, let me tell you… IT IS NOT HAPPENING.
WHERE WE PLAYED
Beyonce’s Mrs. Carter Show
One of the highlights of our recent flash visit to London last weekend, was to come to see Beyonce‘s Concert at The O2 Arena. One of the first main shows of her new world tour ” Mrs Carter Show “. The most exciting moment of the night to me, was when Beyonce flew over The O2 Arena from the main stage to the center of the crowd on a very Pepsi moment flashing reds, whites and her dressed on a blue sequined bodysuit.
