Celebrity Chef K to host LGBT fundraiser in San Francisco

Eden Pride Events is known for throwing some wild and crazy parties for LGBT women over the years. As they gear up for this year’s festivities, they have expanded their horizons to giving back to LGBT youth at their first fundraiser, hosted by celesbian Chef Khristianne Uy.

Eden LGBTQ Youth Foundation announced its launch back in February and will offer up to 20 scholarships and opportunities to partake in workshops and work with mentors.

Their first event, titled Chef K Foodie Brunch, will take place during Eden’s very busy San Francisco Pride weekend on June 28. Bisou Bistro at 2367 Market Street in the Castro will be hosting the event, which will be from 11am to 3pm. 100 percent of the money raised will go to the foundation.

Uy, better known as Chef K, was the winner of ABC’s show The Taste; she was the first lesbian to appear on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker and made several appearances on Showtime’s The Real L Word. Chef K has made dishes for plenty of celebrities in Los Angeles and has even cooked for royalty. Currently, she is Charlie Sheen’s chef and owns her own catering company.

“We were thrilled when Chef K agreed to be one of our celesbians for the weekend.  Originally she was only going to be our guest for our evening events,” Christine De La Rosa, producer of Eden Pride Events, said in a press release. “However, her media manager Juan Markos suggested she do an additional fundraiser for the Eden Youth Foundation [and]we were beyond excited.  This is such a great cause and to have Chef K help us as we help others is an honor.”

Tickets will be sold separately from the Eden Night parties. It costs $45 to enjoy the brunch and $75 to sit at Chef K’s table.
