Two more anti-LGBT attacks have surfaced in New York City.
“Word has just emerged of two more attacks on members of the LGBT community in New York City: one beating in the East Village and one beating in SoHo,” Nathan Schaefer, Executive Director of the Empire State Pride Agenda said in a press release shared with 429Magazine.
In reaction to the tragic shooting of Mark Carson, New York City Council Speaker and first lesbian mayoral candidate Christine Quinn and DOMA Plaintiff Edith Windsor along with thousands of other advocates took the streets of New York to speak out in an a rally against violence.
“…Enough is enough. No more violence. We won’t stand for it as a community or as a city. And while we are outraged by the news of these latest attacks, the message remains the same. The community will stand strong, and will not be intimidated back into the closet” said Schaefer.
