Arizona Senator’s son tweets homophobic, racist, anti-Semitic slurs

The son of marriage equality opponent Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Tanner, has been lashing out against others on his Twitter account with homophobic, racist, and anti-Semitic slurs.

The teenager threatened the “faggot” who stole his bike: “To the faggot who stole my dirt bike from the church parking lot, I will find you, and I will beat the crap out of you.”

Tanner also replied to a tweet with “I’m down to own some faggots.”

He also called someone a “Jew” on his account and published screenshots of a game app he plays called “Fun Run.” His username for the gaming app is “n1ggerkiller.”

Senator Flake responded his son’s tweets from January and February by saying in a statement to BuzzFeed, “I’m very disappointed in my teenage son’s words, and I sincerely apologize for the insensitivity. This language is unacceptable, anywhere. Needless to say, I’ve already spoken with him about this, he has apologized, and I apologize as well.”

BuzzFeed also pointed out that the young Flake was making the same derogatory comments on YouTube, where he called Mexicans the “scum of the Earth.” In the hundreds of comments he made, he also called other users “faggot” and “nigger” frequently, and bragged about his father being a member of Congress.

Since the controversy, Tanner Flake has made his Twitter account private.
