New York City’s Pride attendees have even more to look forward to, after hearing the news that Cher will be performing at the event this year.
On June 30 she will perform her new single “Women’s World” and some of her greatest hits for the legion of LGBT fans at the annual end-of-Pride concert. She is the most recent in a line of A-list performers to grace the same stage over the years, including Janet Jackson, Jennifer Hudson, and Jennifer Lopez.
“NYC Pride is thrilled to welcome Cher to the stage of this year’s Dance on the Pier,” said Chris Frederick, managing director of NYC Pride. “Her performance will be one of the most memorable in the history of this world-class party.”
The singer has received countless tweets about how excited and anticipated fans are about the appearance. Cher herself said, “I’m honored to be able to perform at @nycpride at the #pierdance on 6/30!”
The Oscar and Grammy winning diva’s album will drop September 24, but is already on presale.
