The Twitterverse explodes following rulings on Prop 8 and DOMA


On June 26, 2013, history was made as both DOMA and Prop 8 were essentially ruled unconstitituional by the Supreme Court – a momentous victory on the journey to full equality throughout the United States. 

Public figures and celebrities took to Twitter and other social media platforms to connect and celebrate with the world.

The Court’s ruling on DOMA now grants same sex couples approximately 1,318 rights that were previously denied to them. The Prop 8 ruling kicks the power back to California’s courts, whose Ninth Circuit had previously ruled Prop 8 unconstitutional.
