In an episode of Project Runway, gay contestant Bradon McDonald proposed to his boyfriend after being inspired by Modern Family actor Tyler Ferguson, who was on the show as a guest judge in an inspired bow-tie challenge.
“I hope to take your inspiration and hopefully inspire others and propose to my partner here and now,” McDonald said during his challenge. “Josh, will you marry me? It’s been 18 years since we’ve been together. I can’t wait for the US government to do it.”
Josh and Bradon have been together for 18 years and met at the Julliard School.
McDonald proposed in front of Ferguson and the other judges: Nina Garcia, Zac Posen, and Heidi Klum.
Klum jokingly told Josh to say yes and requested to be their bridesmaid.
Ferguson challenged the contenders to use his line of bow ties from the Tie The Knot in this week’s contest in a non-traditional way. The proceeds will go to donations towards marriage equality. Tyler Ferguson recently married his partner, lawyer Justin Mikita, in New York.
