Olympian Greg Louganis marries partner

Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis married John Chaillot on Saturday evening under a Malibu sunset at Geoffrey’s. They married in front of close to 200 guests that included: recent The Voice contestant Dominic Scott Kay and fellow Olympians, Janet Evans and Nadia Comaneci. During the ceremony, attendees dined upon vegan baby greens, grilled Angus filet mignon and Chilean sea bass.

The 53-year old diver and his 52-year old paralegal husband met on Match.com back in 2012 and became engaged nearly a year later, on April 8. In a generous request, the couple asked guests to donate to charities in lieu of a traditional wedding registry.

“I already feel different,” Louganis told People Magazine. “The ceremony was so reflective and representative of who we are.”

Later, Louganis took to Facebook to express his thoughts about the night:

Last night was magical! I am so blessed! Johnny Chaillot walked down the aisle by his sisters, and me by my coach Ron O’Brien, and Maggie Stern, my Jewish Mother who was always there thru so much! What can I say, family, theater, dance, diving, Yoga, Olympics, Celebrities, School, Dogs, Dog Agility, Gym, Charities, Activism, TV, Film, and all “friends”! Much love shared, but mostly a new chapter with my now husband, Johnny Chaillot-Louganis.

About The Author

As an aspiring novelist in search of an agent for my debut, YA series, "#BeautifulUgly", I hope to be able to help the world recognize the author as an artist, as they would the painter. Currently attending Academy of Art as a photography major with hopes to improve, technically, as a visual creator.
