Marvel confirms Loki character will be bisexual in 2014 comic series

The writer of Marvel’s upcoming series, “Loki: Agent of Asgard,” has confirmed that the titular trickster will be bisexual.

In response to a question on his Tumblr, Al Ewing posted, “Yes, Loki is bi and I’ll be touching on that. He’ll shift between genders occasionally as well.”

Norse mythology has no explicit reference to LGBT relationships, unlike many others, but Loki is depicted as capable of changing not only his appearance but his physical sex, making it a reasonable assumption that gender means little to him.

Most famously, he transformed into a mare and had “relations” with Svaðilfari the stallion, which resulted in Loki’s giving birth to the eight-legged horse Sleipnir.

It has also been revealed that Captain America will appear in “Loki: Agent of Asgard,” but what dealings he will have with Loki is unknown.
