Mario Lavandeira, known better to the public as celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, has just signed on to star in a new reality television show about gay dads in New York City.
The blog star, who often happens to be a topic of celebrity news himself—especially with his recent, fiery feud with former friend and pop provocateur, Lady Gaga—will be filmed as he navigates the rewards and challenges of gay parenthood, along with a group of other dads. The show, currently titled “Gay Dads of New York,” will feature men who are single, married, or partnered.
“What is your typical American family like? These days, it looks a lot like mine,” said Hilton in a statement this week. The controversial blogger adopted a son of his own , back in February of 2012.
Perez added, “I am honored and excited to bring to television a show that will be filled with love, humor and drama. What will it not be? Trashy or boring!”
“I am thrilled to have partnered with the leaders and innovators of reality television, Bunim/Murray, to create a program that is compelling and real.”
The show is currently still casting in the Big Apple, looking for “gay men who are willing to share their lives with the world” who live in the area. If interested, you can apply for the show online. Keep in mind, New Yorkers, that you must be twenty-one or older to ride on this reality roller coaster.
