Tennessee Equality Project starts new initiative: “Equality Means Business”

With ENDA still in legal limbo, the Tennessee Equality Project is starting an initiative to do the next best thing: encourage businesses to publicaly declare their support for the LGBT community and for treating them equally.

Executive director Christopher Sanders told the Associated Press that the group is giving out window stickers that read “Equality Means Business,” the presence of which announces that the company has agreed to treat all customers, employees, and applicants equally regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

A list of businesses that have joined the initiative can be found on the Tennessee Equality Project’s Facebook page.
