“Dallas Buyers Club,” Lady Gaga, and “Glee” among nominees for 2014 GLAAD Media Awards

The nominees for the 2014 GLAAD Media Awards were announced on Thursday, January 30, with movies like the Dorian and Hollywood Award-winning “Dallas Buyers Club,” and the adventurous “Philomena” going head-to-head for “Outstanding Film” with wide release.

Another big face-off of the ceremony will be for the “Outstanding Music Artist” award, with Sir Elton John’s “The Diving Board” up against the god-Monster-mother of his kids, Lady Gaga, with “ARTPOP.”

The GLAAD Media Awards recognize works of art, artists, and media for their contributions to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, as well as recognizing inclusive and accurate representations of LGBT culture.

The ceremonies will take place on April 12 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles and at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on May 3. A list of some of the major awards and nominees follow below.
