Conservative group Florida Family Action has filed a lawsuit seeking to keep marriage equality out of Orlando when the ban on same-sex marriage is lifted on January 6. The state’s Attorney General, Pam Bondi, has also asked for “appropriate clarification” regarding whether US District Judge Robert L. Hinkle’s ruling that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage applies statewide, or just to the county named in the lawsuit. [Read more here]

In Scotland, at the stroke of midnight tonight, the obligatory fifteen-day waiting period will come to an end for same-sex couples who gave notice of their intent to marry on the first day it was legal, December 16.
