The company 1:Face believes that each person has the power to change the world: feeding a child, quenching a thirst, and finding a cure. To that end, its line of wristwatches were all created in partnership with charities that help people around the globe.
1:Face held its first Indiegogo campaign in 2012, and since then its supporters have changed over a million lives. In celebration, the organization is introducing the 1:Face :M, which aims to double its donations to partner organizations.
Watches in the new :M line feature an elegantly simple analog design, with a high-quality tempered glass screen that resists both cracking and water damage. Supporters can choose to support one or all of 1:Face’s selected causes: cancer, hunger, breast cancer, clean water, disaster relief, environment, AIDS, education, and animal rights. For example, purchasing one of its red watches through Indiegogo will provide enough funds to support sixteen AIDS patients.
The organization works to create a business model that is as transparent as possible, so past and potential supporters never need to ask “And then what?” in regards to where their contributions go. Instead, according to the fundraiser page, “Each watch comes with a metric which is carried out with the purchase of the watch … we will not only tell you what, we will show you what!
“For example, for every white watch purchased, Faces of Change will provide 20 children in Kenya with food. The same holds true for each of the other metrics. The goal is to create an actual quantified change in people’s lives around the world for each watch sold.”
