You’d think for someone a name like ‘Flora’, the career of floral stylist would be tacitly expected, yet painstakingly avoided. Not so for Flora Starkey, a bespoke floral arranger whose creations have graced the pages of almost every major magazine and fashion campaign in the last few years. Think about Mrs. Dalloway suddenly deciding she would buy the flowers herself, and then being like ‘screw introspection’ and embarking on a career as a prop stylist instead, and you’ll pretty much have an awesome sense of her work. Starkey arranges flowers for the very best in the business, including Paul Smith, House of Hackney, Givenchy, not to mention the weddings of some very fortunate individuals.
In this season of floral beauty, we’re taking some time to appreciate Starkey’s magnificent creations, one bud at a time.
