The First Taboo Trailer Proves Well Worth the Wait

Tom Hardy obsessives that we are, we’ve been waiting for his Victorian revenge drama Taboo to happen for, oh, about 6 months now. Along with The Young Pope, it’s almost certainly our most anticipated mid-season show.

So imagine our delight when we awoke this morning to find the very first trailer for the up-to-now mysterious BBC One project. And what a trailer it is. We don’t find out much about the plot, but that small oversight is well made up for by the wealth of familiar talent that makes an appearance in the series trailer. Was that Oona Chaplin? Michael Kelly? Jonathan Pryce?!

Yes, indeed it was. Not to mention a full on naked shot of Hardy (no goods, I’m afraid) posed over a fire like the thinker, wondering how on earth he’s going to murder, punch, and grunt his way back to the top of an 1800s British shipping empire.

Needless to say, we’ll be tuning in on January 7th.
