Unlike other seaweeds, kelp contains more calcium per serving. 1-cup serving possesses 134 milligrams of calcium. Meanwhile, other seaweeds like laver and Irish mosh contain less than 60 milligrams of calcium per serving. 

Vitamin K

Compared to a host of other seaweed, kelp is a great source of vitamin K. This helps with blood clotting. Vitamin K simply activates proteins that are required for a series of chemical reactions, which results in the formation of blood clots.
